Works with the payers toresolve issues and facilitate prompt payment of claims. Follow-upwith insurance companies to collect outstanding accounts for whichpayment has not been received in response to the claims submissionprocess, either electronically or by paper. The Specialist will beassigned all payor groups of outstanding patient accounts. Variousmethods of follow-up will be used including all JHU/ PBS BillingApplications. The Specialist must have expertise in insurancefollow-up processing and be knowledgeable in CPT and diagnosiscoding as well as have an understanding of the JHOC registrationprocess and be able to recognize and resolve incorrect demographicand insurance registration. The Specialist must have anunderstanding of claims submission requirements for all payors toexpedite payments as well as knowledge of appeals and rejectionsprocessing.
