first_img1 Southampton’s Jay Rodriguez is edging closer to a return after completing his first full training session on Wednesday. The England forward, who has been linked with a possible move to Tottenham in the summer, has been sidelined for a year after suffering a cruciate knee ligament injury against Manchester City in April 2014.Rodriguez’s imminent return will come as a timely boost for Ronald Koeman as the Saints continue their push for a Europa League spot.Southampton face fixtures against three relegation-threatened teams in Sunderland, Leicester City and Aston Villa before ending their campaign with a trip to the Etihad. As it stands, a sixth-place finish will be enough for Southampton to secure a European place but seventh could be enough if Arsenal retain the FA Cup against Aston Villa at the end of May.
