Volunteers needed for park concerts PICO RIVERA – The city is seeking volunteers to assist with its annual Concerts in the Park series, beginning Sunday. Duties include set-up, operation of the Art in the Park booth and break down/ cleanup following concerts. Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age. Relay raises funds to fight cancer WHITTIER – The Whittier Relay for Life and the American Cancer Society invite the public to the opening ceremonies of “Walk Around the Clock,” a 24-hour relay to raise money for cancer research and treatment, starting at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Whittier College track. Survivors are invited to participate in the survivors lap, which starts the relay. Luminarias may also be purchased to celebrate survivors and to honor loved ones lost to cancer.
